Introductory Offer
Are you curious about exploring creative ways to express yourself while gaining insight and clarity into yourself?
I am a HCPC registered Art Therapist offering an online, 1:1 Art Therapy service for adults. I'm currently inviting a small number of individuals to participate in a block of 6 sessions focused on your self-development.
In exchange for a significantly reduced fee, I invite you to provide feedback on your experience to help refine and enhance my new online service.
A Bit About Me
As an Art Therapist with over 15 years of experience of providing 1:1 therapy in both in-person and online settings. I'm excited to start my online private practice to provide 1:1 therapeutic support for adults.
Because I’m based in the rural Scottish Highlands, developing this online service will mean I can continue doing this work that I’m passionate about, and provide a quality service to those who dont have access to in-person support, or just prefer to meet from the comfort of their own home.
My Approach
My approach to Art Therapy is collaborative and trauma-informed, ensuring that our work together is shaped by what is most useful to you. At the beginning, I may offer more prompts and suggestions to support your creative process, or we may take a more open-ended approach - this is something we will explore together. As we build our therapeutic relationship, we will develop an understanding of what works best for you. I work in a relational way, guided by key trauma-informed principles: safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural consideration. I also have an interest in somatic practices and their role in regulating the nervous system, recognizing the profound connection between body and mind in the healing process.
Art in Art Therapy
I understand ‘art’ to have a broad meaning extending beyond (but not dismissing) the obvious painting and drawing and other physical making, to include creativity in conversation such as the use of metaphor and descriptive language, lyrics and poetry or engaging imagination, dreamworlds and day dreaming. Images snapped on your mobile phone, fallen leaves you collected, finding an image in the clouds, these could be some examples of what you could bring to a session, or where we might end up. You do not have to consider these things to be art, yourself an artist or aim to produce what you think of as art. The good stuff is in the process.
